MeroShare vs SajiloShare: use both, for different jobs

SajiloShare is not a replacement for MeroShare. Every application still goes through CDSC's MeroShare system. SajiloShare saves you from repeating the same steps once per account.

Short answer: Keep MeroShare for account settings, purchase source and EDIS. Use SajiloShare when you apply, check results or track the portfolio for more than one account.

What MeroShare does

MeroShare is run by CDS and Clearing Ltd. and is the official way to apply for IPOs, FPOs and right shares through ASBA, see your demat holdings, set the purchase source that decides your WACC, and handle EDIS for sales.

It is built around one account per login. Allotment results are published on a separate site, iporesult.cdsc.com.np, where you check one BOID with one captcha at a time.

What SajiloShare adds

SajiloShare stores each family member's MeroShare login once, on your phone, with the password and PIN encrypted. From there it applies to an open issue for every selected account in one run, checks the official CDSC result for every saved BOID together, and adds the accounts up into one portfolio with WACC, charges and capital gains tax.

It also sends alerts before issues open and close, shows MeroShare and demat expiry dates for every account, and moves your saved accounts to a new phone with encryption.

What SajiloShare does not do

It does not change your purchase source, handle EDIS, open accounts or renew them for you. For those, use MeroShare or your depository participant. It also depends on MeroShare being up: if the portal is slow on closing day, every app built on it is slow too.

Is it safe to use both?

SajiloShare sends your credentials only from your phone to MeroShare, the same place the MeroShare app sends them. They are not stored on a SajiloShare server. If you change your MeroShare password, update it in SajiloShare too.

Frequently asked

Do I still need the MeroShare app if I use SajiloShare?
Keep MeroShare for purchase source, EDIS and account settings. SajiloShare covers applying, results, alerts and the portfolio across accounts.
Are applications made in SajiloShare real MeroShare applications?
Yes. SajiloShare submits each application to MeroShare for that account, and it appears in MeroShare's application report like any other.
